REMANUFACTURED TONER CARTRIDGE
A remanufactured toner cartridge is one that was basically recycled maintaining the original seals and core. It uses parts that were used in another toner cartridge that was returned. (usually because there is no toner left) The internal parts are usually replaced with new OEM parts to maintain its quality.
These cartridges usually have a standard manufacturer warranty. This is the reason you can return them to Staples and Office Depot. These companies sell them back to the manufacturer for recycling. Read the labels on your new HP toners you will see that they recycle cartridges also. Because the process to make these cartridges takes millions of dollars of equipment to seal the seems correctly they are often more expensive.
COMPATIBLE TONER CARTRIDGE
A compatible toner cartridge is one made by another company (NOT your printer’s manufacturer) and not authorized by them. A compatible toner cartridge is as good as the company who makes it. There are reputable companies selling these products. These cartridges are more problematic due to the way they are made. Sometimes a guy in his garage makes them for the public. (He is what we call drill and fill)
Obviously the attention to detail is left behind. Don’t be fooled by companies on the internet advertising cheap prices. Yes they are cheap…but also cheaply made. Companies buy these compatibles from whom ever, make a profit and move on. The lack of support is usually not there. Most experienced a headache trying to return on of these back if they are defective. Here at Advanced Copiers and Printers we scrutinize all cartridge’s we sell. O yea and we stand behind the product in the rare case it fails on you.
There are many things to consider when it comes to making a purchasing decision for your office equipment.
Before you get worked up on shiny, new gadgets, you might want to consider getting pre-owned equipment instead.
